Asbestos Removal

Rightway Environmental are delighted to have recently been awarded an asbestos removal contract at the historic Manor House and Winslade House at Winslade Park ,Clyst St Mary, Exeter by prestigious builders URBN Construction.

The Grade 2 Listed Manor House was constructed in 1800 and was used as a school for the majority of the 19th Century. Following a period of neglect the building was converted in 1975- 77 to office accommodation for a large Insurance Company.

The site , including the Manor House , is to be redeveloped to include a Leisure Complex, 150 Houses and a range of  retail and business units costing in excess of £80 Million. The Leisure complex will include fitness studios  a swimming pool, restaurants ,bars and indoor and outdoor sports and recreation facilities.

To facilitate the refurbishment of the Manor House and Winslade House, Rightway are removing all licensed and non licensed asbestos based materials from within the buildings.  This includes over 1000 square metres of Asbestos Insulating Board consisting of firebreaks within the loft of the Manor House and AIB wall panels to Winslade House covering the unique and bespoke heating system which forms a part of the architectural heritage of the building.

Rightway have worked in close cooperation with architects , builders and mechanical services contractors involved in the project to ensure the integrity of the Buildings Grade 2 status is preserved during the asbestos removal operation.
