Asbestos Removal

Rightway Environmental have recently completed a large project at Exeter Cathedral.

This beautiful ancient building founded in 1050 has a number of notable features including an astronomical clock and the longest uninterrupted medieval vaulted ceiling in the world.

The work consisted of decontamination of the North and South quire aisle roof voids that were strewn with asbestos insulating board debris over an area of almost 1500 square metres.

Given the nature of the building we were presented with a number of challenging issues in relation to access and security. In addition the works were all undertaken in confined spaces and appropriate equipment and precautions had to be adopted for the duration of the works.

Despite these challenges however the project was completed within the 6 week programme and to the entire satisfaction of the client.
