Mid Devon District Council

Rightway Environmental provide Mid Devon District Council with asbestos removal services and our assistance was required when fly tipped waste was found on Bickleigh Lane in Devon.

The fly tipping occurred on the grass verge of this Devon lane, and when discovered, samples of suspect asbestos material were sent for analysis. The material returned a positive result of Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) debris. Mid Devon District Council contacted Rightway and we immediately set about a plan of works and a HSE waiver was applied for, and granted.

Following the administration of the project the road was closed and Rightway attended site. The AIB was located, loose on the road side and buried within the mud and long grass. All asbestos and other waste was removed along with a section of grass verge which has small pieces of debris within. The road was re-opened and normal vehicular activity returned with the minimum of disturbance to the environment.
