Rightway Environmental have played a big part in the demolition of historical war-time buildings which is allowing room to be made for parking for an industrial site.
Milton Park in Didcot began as an RAF depot and was used during World War Two supplying equipment to planes and more recently were used for cancer research.
Our client asked us to remove 1000m² asbestos insulation board (AIB) and 1000m² cement roof sheets in preparation for the demolition.
The team at Rightway split the building into 5 separate identical enclosures using the fabric of the building and purpose built framework. Each enclosure had airlocks, baglocks and air inlets. The walls and openings were sealed with 1000-guage polythene. The enclosures covered from floor to ceiling while the operatives worked to remove asbestos insulation board ceiling panels. The ceiling panels were accessed on scissor lifts (MEWP).
