Another successful asbestos removal project completed safely and efficiently!

PROJECT:Removal of textured coated ceiling in bathroom

LOCATION:Sidmouth, Devon

TEAM:Plymouth

Our team began by fully segregating the work area, establishing controlled waste and transit routes, and setting up a designated decontamination zone adjacent to the workspace. Pre-start photographic records were taken to document site conditions.

We then constructed a fully sealed enclosure using polythene sheeting, cloth tape, and spray tack to ensure all non-asbestos surfaces were thoroughly protected. A minimum two-stage airlock system was installed, and all operatives wore appropriate respiratory protective equipment (half mask RPE) and safety eyewear throughout the works.

Before removal commenced, light fittings were carefully isolated and made safe, with all exposed wiring securely fastened. Once the full site setup was complete, further photographs were taken to record compliance.

The textured coated ceilings were treated using an Astrip and water solution applied via hand-held airless sprayers to minimise fibre release. The material was then carefully removed in whole panels wherever possible to maintain control and reduce disturbance.

Following removal, we carried out a comprehensive environmental clean of all work areas and conducted a detailed visual inspection to ensure the area met our high cleanliness standards. Finally, the enclosure was carefully dismantled without causing damage to existing finishes.

Safety, compliance, and attention to detail remain at the core of everything we do.
